Haiti wins a Davey!

Back at the end of October I won a Davey for my editing in Haiti: Triumph, Sorrow, and the Struggle of a People. My statuette finally came in, so I thought I would share with you all! Thanks for all your support in a wonderful project. It’s was truly an accomplishment this year- to think a film with my name on it would be on store shelves was only a high school dream. And after international festivals, an Associated Press Award, Davey Award, and Emmy Nomination- I’m ready to take on the next year.

Dolores retuns in all her glory…

It’s true! Jon and I remain broke and felt it was time to create a follow up to everyone’s favorite holiday gentlewoman. This year’s journey she is joined by her sister-in-law, Marlo. Happy Holidays everyone, and enjoy!

PEG Award for The Mike Messier Show

Earlier this year Mike Messier aired the pilots we made for a major network request, but rejected.
Well, what came out of it was their qualification for the RI PEG Awards, so we thought, ‘Why not?’
Nominated in three categories, we took home Best Editing. Huzzah! The ceremony was held at Hasbro, and was quite a fun night with the other local celebs ;)

YouTube, no!

Soooo, what does my high school marching band video, an Alvin and the Chipmunks theme, and your treadmill clip on a national television show have in common? They get your YouTube account deleted! I’m working hard finding all my projects over the past 9 years and slowly getting them back up under ’standstillpics’. So please standby, and thanks for being patient! Love, Tim.

Return of the Treadmill

MTV has contacted Matt and I for their new show Ridiculousness! It stars Rob Dyrdek and Company, and their take on accident-prone videos. They wanted the treadmill clip for it, and Matt and I happily accepted their offer. Tosh.0 already did it you say? Not really. What’s cool about Ridiculousness is that a bunch of friends are together making fun of the internet’s finest– Not some dude and a green screen. The trailer is a lot of fun, and the treadmill video makes an appearance!

The show premieres August 29th, but a little birdie told me we’re in Episode 16- So we still have a few weeks. But check it out- It looks like a good time.

Yet another 48 Hour Film Project…

It’s that’s time of year again—And I was blessed to be part of another great 48 Hour team. Being hired second shift at WPRI, I wasn’t able to be involved 100% on the team, so I gathered my good friends Jesse Dufault, Jeff Bielat, and Richie Carvill. We’re all one man bands, and that’s exactly what we needed for the team.

Jeff and Richie went to the kickoff event and pulled Dark Comedy (yes!!!) and we text and called all night while I was desperately waiting for my shift to end. Providence’s character this year was Alan or Alana Sarmast (Next Door Neighbor), prop was a newspaper, and line of dialogue was “What are you working on?” orrrrr “Whatcha workin’ on?” (we chose the latter). As Jesse and I edited, Jeff and Richie wrote and recorded the music- and here is the result of the weekend:

And the outcome? Another Audience Choice Award! Hope you enjoyed it- So ‘til next year!

Haiti Nominated for an EMMY!

More great news pouring in! Jonas and I have been nominated for an Emmy for Haiti: Triumph, Sorrow, and the Struggle of a People! We submitted to the Societal Concern category back in December- So now we sit and wait for the NATAS Ceremony May 14th. Here is the full list of this year’s nominations (PDF).

UPDATE: Jonas and I ended up not taking home the Emmy, but it was still such a great experience! It’s exciting to know that other’s in your field watch your work, vote, and decide it’s good enough to win such a prestigious award. And It’s definitely a toll mentally when your category is one of the last to be called! But there’s plans to submit for this coming award season with another project, so we shall see! But now it’s time for Haiti: Triumph, Sorrow, and the Struggle of a People to be shown to the world. The release date is set for August- So look in stores and online soon!

Haiti wins Associated Press Award!

Absolutely fantastic news. Haiti: Triumph, Sorrow, and the Struggle of a People has just won  The Associated Press Award for Best Documentary! Special thanks to ABC6 WLNE-TV for all their help this past August for it’s television debut, and everyone else involved on the film, making it such a great success. The Award Ceremony was April 15th-

Boston International, here we come!

More great news- We were just accepted into the Boston International Film Festival! Haiti: Triumph, Sorrow, and the Struggle of a People will be shown on April 18 at 1pm at AMC Theatres 175 Tremont St. Boston Common. I know it’s a cruddy time, but it’s an honor and great experience. Plus, we are part of a benefit screening with other great films about Haiti. Jonas and I will be there as well for any questions and mingling.
